Tap Into a Network Focused on Connecting the Environmental Community

Dedicated to the advancement and growth of the environmental industry, PEMA provides its member network with services and resources to assist and support collaboration and networking efforts across industry, academia, government, and non-governmental organizations. PEMA’s members include a wide spectrum of environmental professionals in areas spanning sales, marketing, engineering, and consulting.  PEMA provides a platform for professionals to share knowledge through the collective experience of each as it relates to the environmental industry.

PEMA at a Glance

PEMA knows that our strength lies not only in the words we stand by, but most importantly through the actions of our initiatives. Back in 2000, our Non-Profit Organization realized that by working together we could overcome our challenges much more efficiently, and that is why we ultimately decided to launch PEMA.

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”

St. Vincent Meals

on Wheels

The mission of St. Vincent Meals on Wheels is to prepare and deliver nutritious meals to homebound seniors and other vulnerable residents across Los Angeles. It serves anyone in need who lives within our service area, regardless of age, illness, disability, race, religion or ability to pay. Most of its clients are too frail or ill to buy or prepare simple meals.

Many struggle to live on small fixed incomes that fall below the poverty level. St. Vincent MOW is especially committed to meeting their needs. Good nutrition and daily home visits improve the health and dignity of its clients, enabling them to remain independent in their own homes for as long as possible. Its mission has not changed since the program began in 1977. Its values are based on respect, compassionate service, simplicity and advocacy for the poor.

University of California Santa Barbara

Since 2014, PEMA has supported Master's Group Projects at the Bren School of Environmental Science & Management at the University of California Santa Barbara. A signature of the Master's curriculum at Bren, Group Projects enhance the school's emphasis on applied environmental solutions by providing a unique opportunity for students to gain professional-level experience.

Working in teams of three to five, students tackle specific problems posed by a non-profit, government, or corporate client, and present their meaningful recommendations to the public. PEMA's annual support of the Bren School is generously made possible by our members, and has benefited Board-selected projects that investigate a variety of critical topics ranging from the nuances of timber harvesting, to aquifer recharge in the drought-stricken Central Valley.
